Vacancy in KOICA Nepal

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) is a bilateral foreign aid agency of the Republic of Korea, working on development programs worldwide. KOICA Nepal Office is working in technical assistance with the Ministry of Health and Social Health Security Development Committee (SHSDC) through National Health Insurance Support Project (NHISP) on design and implementation of national health insurance program. 

KOICA Nepal Office is currently looking for a highly competent and qualified Nepali Program Officer for the National Health Insurance Support Project (NHISP). 

Position Title: Program Officer

Duration: Till January 2017, with possibility of yearly extension 

Duty Station: NHISP, Kathmandu, with frequent visit to Project sites 


Major Duties may include but are not limited to: 
  • Assist to plan, execute and monitor project and program activities 
  • Support to organize meeting, workshop, seminar to disseminate the project progress and capacity building for concerned stakeholders 
  • Provide needed technical backstopping to the counterparty agencies to update and revised technical standards/guidelines etc. 
  • Update implementation status of national health insurance program and report 
  • Conduct monitoring of NHISP supported activities in the field 
  • Document progress of NHISP and prepare reports 
  • Any other tasks requested by Project Manager 

Qualifications and Required Skills and Proficiency: 
  • Masters' degree in Public Health or Development Studies with five years experience 
  • Good understanding of health insurance and health care delivery systems of Nepal 
  • Good knowledge of project monitoring, preferably the health programs 
  • Excellent skills in written English language and preparing technical reports
