The Department for International Development, is part of the UK Government that manages Britain's aid to poor countries. DFID Nepal is seeking to recruit suitably qualified and experienced Nepalese candidates for the below position.

Position: Band A2 - Health Adviser (SAIC) The job holder will be part of the Governance and Service Delivery Team (GSDT) in DFID Nepal and will work closely with the UK Health Adviser and the Programme Managers in delivering the health objectives and in contributing to the corporate requirements of the office.

Required qualifications/ skills: 
  • A relevant qualification in public health or a related field at least at Masters level with at least 5 years' experience working in the health sector with an emphasis on public health, preferably in Nepal. 
  • Delivery of strategic public health advice at national policy level including experience of working directly with Government of Nepal. 
  • Proven ability to analyses and use complex information to support policy development including understanding of gender and social inclusion issues. 
  • Proven track record of delivery. 
  • Excellent spoken and written Nepali and English. 
The starting gross monthly salary for this position will be Nepalese rupees 238,887 (subject to local income tax deduction).
