United Mission to Nepal (UMN) is an international development organisation which aims to enable the poorest people living in poverty to transform their lives, leading towards fullness of life. Position: Programme Officer - Health (based in Rukum)

Health is one of the key technical areas of UMN's development programmes and focuses on lasting positive change in the health of the Poorest People Living within Poverty in Nepal. The post holder will be the team member of Rukum Cluster Office as well as wider health thematic team of UMN. The main purpose of the post is to take responsibility for the overall managementof the UMN health projects in Rukum District, and give close technical assistance to the implementing NGO partners in the district for their effective planning, implementation and evaluation.

Qualifications, experience, skills and attitudes:

• 2 Bachelor's degree in Public Health or Community Nursing, or Proficiency Certificate in Health sciences with Master’s Degree in any Social Sciences, or its equivalent;
• 2*3 years post qualification work in community health preferably with experience of partnership management of the local NGO partner;


• Experience of participatory planning tools & techniques, group mobilization, and facilitation of health related training's at district level and in rural settings;
• Good computer skills including MS-Office Package. Knowledge of database application would be an advantage;
• Excellent language and communication skills in both Nepali and English;
• Willingness to live and work in a challenging environment and to model UMN values. Salaries and benefits will be according to the UMN Standard.
