Vacancy in Heifer International Nepal

Vacancy Announcement Heifer International Nepal (HPIN), a non-profit, humanitarian organization dedicated to ending hunger and poverty and caring for earth by providing livestock, education and other resources to help poor families become self-reliant, is seeking qualified Nepali citizens for its Strengthening Smallholder Enterprises in Livestock Value Chain (SLVC) project:

Position: Program Manager-Cooperatives (based in Kathmandu and require at least 50% of time in the field)
Major responsibilities of this position include: Ensure successful, efficient and effective functioning of all cooperatives in the program. Analyze the national and local cooperative systems, practices and laws and facilitate the adaptation of best practices as a foundation for uniting smallholder farmers into cooperatives. Build the capacity of cooperative management in making sound investment decisions, establishing business relationships, accessing and delivering services and ensuring product quality and consistency.
 Qualifications required:

A Bachelor's Degree in agricultural economics/business development/cooperative development or a related field is required and 3 years' experience in relevant fields will be required. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these requirements.
