Vacancies on United Mission to Nepal.

United Mission to Nepal is an international development organization which strives to serve the people of Nepal by addressing root causes of poverty so that people can enjoy life in all its fullness. Multicultural teams of Nepali and volunteer expatriate staff work alongside local organizations in remote districts of the country, building partnerships that lead to healthy, dignified and empowered individuals, families and communities.
Following the devastating earthquakes of 25 April and 12 May 2015, UNM has set up a Disaster Response Program to assist the people of Dhading to rebuild their lives. It consists of three projects in each of two geographical areas in Dhading, one in the north and one in the south. The projects are concerned with reconstruction, livelihoods and social/ environmental needs, and focous on the poorest people in the target VDCs.

Position:
1. Logistics Manager based in Dhading Besi
  • The main purpose of this post is to lead and provide overall direction to the program support staff and to be responsible for all procurement and logistics in the program. This will include overseeing warehouse, vehicles and office management. The post-holder will report directly to the Disaster Response Manager and will be part of the DR Programme Management Team.
  • Candidate must have University level education in Development, Business, Commerce or a related area and have working experience of three years or more as an officer or logistics manager.Candidate have experience of managing large procurement contracts and should have proficient in English written and spoken with good knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
2. Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Advisor based in Dhading Besi
  • The main purpose of this post is to lead and provide overall direction to all Monitoring, Evaluating and Learning (MEL) activities in the program. The post holder will report directly to the Disaster Response Manager and is also a member of the DR Program Management Team.
  • Candidate must have a minimum qualification of Master degree in relevant subject with three years experience or Bachelors degree in relevant subject with 5 years relevant experience. Experience of working with NGO/INGO sector in a developing country situation. Knowledge and ability in using computer based data analysis, knowledge and ability in using participatory methodologies, good networking, facilitation, training, coaching and mentoring skills. Excellent language and communication skills in both Nepali and English.
3. Program Manager for Disaster Response Programme in Dhading (2 positions, North and South )
  • The main purpose of these posts is to provide strategic leadership and overall direction to UMN's DR projects in the North and the South of Dhading, so that UMN and its partners make significant impact at community level and contribute to the national level disaster response. The post holders will report directly to the Disaster Response Manager and are also a part of the DR Program Management Team.
  • Candidate must have minimum qualification of university level education to Master Degree in Development or a disaster related area. Experience of working in a multi- cultural setting, familiar with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and data based applications. More than five years experience as a program manager, incliding similar sized programs. Excellent communication skills in both Nepali and English languages, both written and verbal. Experience of managing a team of twenty people in a matrix- organization.Working experience with partner organisations for the implementation of a program.
4. Project Manager to be based in Dhading (3 in north and 3 in south)
  • The main purpose of these posts is to manage the implementation of one of the Disaster Response Projects in North or South Dhading, either in reconstruction, livelihood or social/ environmental enhancement. The post holder will report ti the program manager for the respective Dhading area and is part of the area team in Dhading.
  • Candidate must have minimum qualification of Bachelor in Engineering, Construction or related area for the construction project and Bachelor in Development, Agriculture, WASH or related area for Livelihood Project. Candidate have more than three years of experience as a project manager in related field and should be proficient in spoken and written of English and Nepali with good knowledge of MS Word and Excel.
