Good Neighbors International Nepal (GNI) is an International Non-governmental Organization working in Nepal since 2002 with the objective of improving lives of people, especially children through education, income generating activities, health services, WASH, advocacy, network building and disaster risk reduction.
GNI Nepal invites applications for multiple positions for the Saemaul Zero Hunger Communities Project (SZHCP) Phase II, a two year project funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and implemented by Good Neighbors International (GNI) Nepal.
Position: Livelihood Manager, Doti District (one)
Job Description:
- Responsible for the overall implementation, supervision and monitoring of the project activities.
- Develop annual/quarterly work plan and implement them effectively.
- Develop guidelines and field-based tools for the implementation of the project.
- Suggest strategies and actions deemed for project implementation.
- Identify socio-economically viable non-/farm livelihood options and opportunities.
- Identify market linkages and opportunities for small agri-business and local value chain development, design, and implement the projects addressing those opportunities.
- Document experiences, lessons learn, best practices and replicable strategies/approaches and support in knowledge management.
- Track/monitor progress against planned activities in order to meet the overall goal of the project.
- Be accountable for project funds, overseeing the preparation and monitoring of budgets, cash flow management, and be responsible for the completion of donor financial reporting.
Job Specification:
- Master degree in a relevant field.
- At least seven years of experience in managing sustainable livelihoods, or business development projects using the value chain or market solution approach.
- Proven ability to conceptualize, plan, manage programmes as well as transfer knowledge and skills.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Nepali.
Position: Senior Agriculturist, Doti District (One)
Job Description:
- Develop gender sensitive design of agricultural extension activities including livestock development.
- Provide technical backstopping and supervision to the staff members of the implementing partners.
- Design a detailed agriculture training package (soil conservation, crop production, protection, and marketing).
- Analyze potential for agroforestry and permaculture, detailed agricultural value chain analysis including postharvest handling and storage.
- Collect data and information of the implementing partners to identify the knowledge and skill gaps.
- Coordinate with the local implementing partners and non-/government line agencies.
Job Specification:
- Master’s degree in Agriculture Science with specialization in agro-value chain development is preferred.
- Minimum five years of experience in commercial agriculture production, agribusiness development, and marketing.
- Fluent in written and spoken English and Nepali.
Position: Senior Engineer, Doti District (One)
Job Description:
- Manage the technical components of all constructions under the project.
- Identify and prioritize construction projects during the program inception phase including project appraisal, feasibility analysis, site survey, and sustainability analysis.
- Develop guidelines and field-based tools for the implementation of the project.
- Develop the detailed designs of the construction/rehabilitation projects.
- Ensure resilience, usability, and sustainability of all infrastructures.
Job Specification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with at least five years of experience or Master’s with three years of experience.
- Experience of rural infrastructure constructions in the Far Western Development Region of Nepal.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Good computer skills.
